As Director of Community Services, Kristan Shrider has played a pivotal role in spearheading one of Saugeen Shores’ most significant projects – the Aquatic & Wellness Centre (AWC). With her family’s health and wellness top of mind, Kristan sees the AWC as the town’s largest-ever investment in recreation and the community.

“The AWC will provide all members of our community an unparalleled opportunity to participate in active wellness,” Kristan reflects. “I am extremely proud to be a part of this transformative initiative.”

Kristan and her sister Kerri have fond memories of being actively involved in the community’s swimming lessons at Centennial Pool. Looking ahead, Kristan envisions a future where she can “look out over the AWC and see our boys shooting hoops or Mom and Kerri walking the track” – a deep sense of gratitude for being part of this significant project.

This giving season, Kristan is honoring her family’s unwavering support throughout her career with a Legacy Brick Gift. Each member of her family will have a personalized brick placed within the beautifully designed patio, just off the AWC’s community rooms. Kristan encourages others to follow suit and purchase a brick through the Brick Campaign.

“The impact this facility will have on our community is immeasurable – wellness, activity, recreation, culture, accessibility, and inclusivity for all,” Kristan affirms. “By having our bricks as part of this facility, it will remind us every day that our health, wellbeing, family, and community are what truly matter. This community is so important to our family. It is where we choose to live and thrive.”

Through the Brick Campaign, you too can leave a lasting legacy and support the realization of the AWC – a project that will shape the wellness of Saugeen Shores for generations to come.
