A testimonial from Kara Van Myall on behalf of her family – Patrick, Josh and Nathan.

As I watch the Aquatic and Wellness Centre take shape, I see more than just a construction site. I see a future of movement, competition, and community connection through fitness.

Our family has always been passionate about sports and physical activity, with deep roots to the community. Both of my sons, Josh and Nathan, have been involved in multiple sports throughout their lives, and this centre represents the next chapter of athletic development for Saugeen Shores. With Josh in post-secondary education and Nathan recently graduated, they’re excited to see a facility rising from the ground that will support athletes and active families.

What was once a dream in previous council meetings is now becoming a tangible reality. By purchasing a legacy brick, we’re not just contributing to a building, we’re investing in a space that will help our community stay active, create connections, and focus on collective wellness.

Our sons have grown up understanding the importance of staying fit, and challenging themselves physically but more importantly, the importance of their community, the place they call home. This centre will provide state-of-the-art facilities for swimming, fitness classes, and various athletic training opportunities that weren’t available when they were younger.

I encourage everyone to join us and together, we can complete a centre that celebrates movement, supports athletes of all ages, and keeps our community strong and active for years to come.
